During my childhood in Russia children often created little time capsules that we called "secrets". We'd dig up little holes in the ground and put whatever little pretties and "treasures" (often flowers) we had in it and cover it with a piece of broken glass as a "window" to peek through. Almost always, it was finding a big enough piece of colored glass that was the starting point for making such a "secret". Creating this lamp reminded me of that childhood tradition.

The design consists of lush, vibrant astrantia flowers and delicate, wispy grass strands, creating magical fairy world.

Did you know?

The stems and rhizomes of the Astrantia can be used for medicinal purposes. The dried leaves of the plant can be used in herbal medicines as an infusion to help with digestion and help stimulate appetite.

The lamp has a sturdy cement base and a glass cloche cover.

Low voltage light bulb provides a perfect mood setting.

Up-cycled artwares are fired at high temperatures making them suitable for daily use. (Note: mediums contain no toxic ingredients: ASTM D-4236 safety code)

Conservation Care:

Although artwares are dishwasher-safe, we cannot guarantee drawings and paintings will remain as vivid in the long run. In order to maintain the life of artwork quality, avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads. Just a bit of hot water and soap is needed to keep it clean.

Artist note: my hand applies all drawings and paintings. No hired artists, no heat transfers or screen-printed processes are ever used. Each piece is truly a unique fine artware.
