Delicious Moment - Arizona Cypress and Thistle Pie
This original painting "Delicious Moment - Arizona Cypress and Thistle Pie", despite its small size, commands attention. It draws the viewer in, whispering softly about the fragility and grandeur of nature.
Visually alluring, it balances intricate detail with intriguing simplicity. The cast concrete "canvas," molded from a discarded plastic lid, carries subtle Art Deco influences while quietly referencing the ecological implications of human consumption. Layers of color and texture create depth, while delicate interference paint details—only visible at certain angles and lighting—add an element of discovery, reinforcing the theme of close observation and quiet reverence.
While this piece stands beautifully on its own, it is also part of a larger collection designed to be displayed in groups. When arranged together, these botanical miniatures create a striking wall of memories—a poetic archive of nature’s resilience and a reflection on our ever-evolving relationship with the environment.
- Dimension:
8.5” diameter
Specially hand cast cement panel and acrylic paints.
- Easy to hang and has everything you need to display in your space.
Custom Creations: If you desire a specific shape, size or botanical portrrait, just let us know, and we'll craft it to your liking.
I am a Texas-based multidisciplinary artist. My work has been shown in juried exhibitions and galleries across the U.S., including Deitch Projects (NY), TSA LA (Los Angeles), and the TX Biennial in Houston. I explore themes of nature, grief, and eco-spirituality through hand-painted glass, ceramics, and cast concrete. I was recently selected, alongside my creative partner Carlos Carrillo, for the 2024 TX Biennial and have exhibited with Lightforms Art Center, Icosa Gallery, and more.
